The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, has arrested a 29-year-old man, Adamu Yusuf, with 7,000 capsules of Tramadol weighing 4.1 kilograms.
The suspect was intercepted on August 23, 2025, by operatives of the Kiru Area Command along the Zaria-Kano Road, Kwanar Dangora, while traveling from Lagos. The drugs were concealed inside a 20-liter oil jerrycan in an attempt to evade detection.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesperson Sadiq M. Maigatari on Monday, the commander of the Kano Strategic Command, ACGN A.I. Ahmad, commended the operatives for their diligence and professionalism.
He also thanked the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), for his continuous support to the agency’s operations.
The NDLEA said the arrest reflects its ongoing commitment to disrupt the supply of illicit drugs and safeguard communities in Kano State. The command further urged members of the public to support its efforts through timely information.
