Niger Assembly formally receives new Munya constituency member

The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Mohammed Sarkin-Daji, has officially received Hon. Dogari Daje, member-elect from Munya Constituency, following his landslide victory in the August 16, 2025 by-election.

During the ceremony, the Speaker congratulated Daje on his win and wished him well in his new role.

He explained that the reception underscores the Assembly’s commitment to welcoming and integrating new members to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of legislative business.

Hon. Dogari Daje submitted his certificate of return to the Speaker, thereby formalising his position as the duly elected member of Munya Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The House members also congratulated Hon. Daje on his victory and look forward to working with him to drive development and progress in Munya Constituency and Niger State at large.

Daje then paid a courtesy visit to the Clerk of the House, Mall. Farouq Umar Isah, to further solidify his transition into the House.

DAILY POST recalls that Daje defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Sabo Sunday Adabyinlo, with a margin of over 6,000 votes to emerge winner in the by-election that was held on August 16, 2025.

The election was held to fill the vacant seat created by the death of Hon. Joseph Haruna Duza of PDP in the Niger State House of Assembly.
