Nigeria at 65: We appreciate your resilience amidst challenges – ALGON to citizens

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, has lauded Nigerians in the midst of several challenges confronting the country.

ALGON said this on Wednesday in a statement by its National Chairman, Bello Lawal, to mark the country’s 65th independence anniversary.

Lawal appreciated tangible efforts aimed at strengthening local government administration.

He also appealed for a stronger commitment to promote peace, justice, equity, and better welfare for the common people and the most vulnerable across the 774 Local Government Areas and Area Councils.

ALGON noted that the number 65 is associated with spiritual growth and major life transitions, underscoring the importance of prayers coupled with hard work and trusting in the inner capacity for growth, especially as Nigeria navigates its path toward prosperity.

“We heartily congratulate His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the Federal Executive Council, the National Assembly, the Judiciary, State Governors and State Assemblies and the Mass Media on the occasion of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

“We recognize Nigeria’s resilience and unity amidst all existential challenges. ALGON appreciates tangible efforts aimed at strengthening local government administration.

“It is therefore our prayer that this anniversary inspires hope and collective efforts toward a brighter future for Nigeria,” Lawal said.
