Speaking on Friday, September 5, 2025, Johnson expressed concern over Tinubu’s repeated absences from Nigeria and questioned whether due process was being followed in handing over power to Vice President Kashim Shettima during such trips.

> “Nigerians are tired of hearing about the president’s travels. It feels like our pressing problems are being ignored while the government obsesses over foreign matters,” Johnson said.

He argued that while Tinubu has pursued international diplomacy and attended global summits since assuming office in May 2023, ordinary Nigerians continue to grapple with poverty, poor healthcare, insecurity, and economic hardship.

Johnson further condemned the financial burden of funding these international visits, especially at a time when many citizens are struggling with daily survival.

> “People feel abandoned. The government seems indifferent to the public outcry. The belief that one can govern Nigeria from anywhere is dangerous,” he added.
