Nigeria’s judiciary has collapsed – PLAC Executive Director Clement Nwankwo

The Executive Director of the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, PLAC, Clement Nwankwo, has said that Nigeria’s judiciary has collapsed.

Nwankwo made the statement on Wednesday while responding to questions in an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.

“I stand out now as a lawyer who was told that the law is the last hope of the common people. Today, the courts don’t work. If you have a grievance, as a plaintiff or complainant, you go to court, you could be in court for 20 years.

“I’m not talking of political cases. If it were a political case, the question I have is whether judges are being bought or compromised by the politician. So in all reality, our judiciary has collapsed,” he said.
