NPFL: Bendel Insurance suspends Head Coach, Ikhenoba over poor performance

The Head Coach of Bendel Insurance Football Club, Greg Ikhenoba, has been suspended over alleged poor performance by the Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC).

DAILY POST reports that the chairman of the commission, Amadin Desmond Enabulele, approved the suspension of the coach.

The Media Officer of the club, Kehinde Osagiede, disclosed this on Monday, October 6, 2025, in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin City.

Enabulele said the Head Coach was suspended following the poor performance of the Football Club in the current season, coupled with the 1-0 loss to Nasarawa United in matchday seven of the Nigeria Premier Football League at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday.

He added that the suspension takes immediate effect from Monday, October 6, 2025.

Enabulele, however, directed Coach Baldwin Bazuaye to step in as Head of the technical crew until further notice.
