NPFL: Mohammed rues Niger Tornadoes’ defeat to Rivers United

Niger Tornadoes technical adviser Majin Mohammed has attributed his team’s narrow defeat against Rivers United to a loss of concentration.

The Ikon Allah Boys suffered a 1-0 loss to Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

A second-half penalty from Maclyn Biokpo gave the Pride of Rivers maximum points in the game.

Mohammed commended his players for their performance despite the defeat.

“We lost the game narrowly, due to loss of concentration, overall, it was a good game for us,” Mohammed said after the game.

“About the penalty, referees have ways they interpret the law, whether it’s a ball to hand or hand to ball, whichever way, his decision and even though, was not favourable to us, there is nothing we can do, other than abide by it.

“The boys did very well, we had our chances that could have won us the game, but we couldn’t take it and paid for it.”

Niger Tornadoes occupy fourth position on the league table with nine points.
