NPFL: Rivers United overcome Niger Tornadoes, stay unbeaten

Rivers United defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0 in Port Harcourt on Wednesday to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Both teams failed to hit the target in the first half of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL rescheduled matchday six encounter.

Maclyn Biokpo scored the winning goal for Rivers United from the penalty spot in the 50th minute.

The Port Harcourt club are now unbeaten in their 16 home matches in the NPFL.

Finidi George’s side last lost at home against Bayelsa United on November 10, 2024.

The former champions moved to third position on the log, while Niger Tornadoes dropped to fourth.
