Naija News had earlier reported that NUPENG declared an industrial action on Monday over the refusal of the Dangote Group to allow its workers to join the union.
However, the strike was suspended after an emergency meeting convened by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja. The dialogue brought together key stakeholders, including the Ministers of Labour and Finance, as well as officials of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
According to Vanguard, the Dangote management team was represented by Seyu Dantata, who led discussions on behalf of the company.
Details of the agreement have not been made public, but insiders say both parties reached a compromise that addressed the core demands of the union while ensuring operations at the Dangote Group remain stable.
