The Oluwo Afobaje of Labosinde has decorated Oba Rashidi Ladoja with Akoko leaves, marking his recognition as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, in a ceremony held at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan.
The decoration, which symbolizes legitimacy and authority in Ibadan’s chieftaincy tradition, was conducted in line with long-standing cultural rites. The event was preceded by the ritual opening of the clash, a customary step in the enthronement process.
Following the decoration, Oba Ladoja proceeded to the Osemeji shrine, situated directly opposite the Labosinde Compound, where further traditional rites were performed.
Arriving in grand style, the monarch was conveyed in a white limousine, accompanied by members of the Olubadan-in-Council, notable Ibadan warlords (Oloroso), as well as his immediate and extended family members.
