Police will remain neutral – Niger CP assures political parties

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, has assured that the police will perform their responsibilities in accordance with prescribed ethics and professional standards without favoring any particular political party or group in the state.

Elleman stated this during a visit by the newly elected executives of the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to his office in Minna.

He emphasized the importance of remaining non-partisan in his remarks to the PDP executives.

The CP stressed that the police will continue to remain neutral and impartial, providing a suitable environment for all parties to conduct their activities peacefully.

Earlier, the Niger State PDP Chairman, Aliyu Mohammed Halidu, said the purpose of the visit was to officially introduce himself and other executives to the CP, and to familiarise themselves with the Command.

“We want to appreciate the Command for the smooth conduct of the elections under a conducive environment due to the prompt deployment and proactiveness of the police who ensured that the process went smoothly,” Halidu said.

He also expressed the desire to solidify the already existing synergy between the party and the Command.
