
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has described former Military President, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida as a beacon of hope and a role model for many generations, saying posterity will continue to acknowledge his contributions.
Bago in a message to IBB on his 84th birthday through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, described him as a true patriot and a living legend who has dedicated most of his life to serving the country.
The governor highlighted Gen. Babangida’s bravery and patriotism, noting that he ensured the unity, stability, and progress of Nigeria during and after his tenure as head of state.
According to him, ” The elder statesman has written his name on the sands of time through the numerous policies and programmes implemented when he was the head of State and military president of Nigeria between 1985 and 1993″.
Bago also commended the former president’s commitment to preserving rich history and promoting education, citing the launch of the IBB Presidential Library, named after his late wife, Dr Maryam Babangida.
” I also celebrate the enduring legacy of the celebrant in the political and economic evolution of Nigeria and congratulate him for attaining the age of 84, which he said is a great milestone in life, ” he maintained.
Bago then prayed for Allah’s continuous Noor and Rahama, good health and vitality, as well as wisdom to continue to provide wise counsel for more impact.
