Supporters dump former Plateau Rep member, refuse to decamp to APC

Hon. Solomon Maren, the former House of Representatives member, who represented Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, on Monday, suffered a serious set back in his political career as his supporters refused to join him in defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to inside sources, Maren had banked on his supporters across Mangu and Bokkos LGAs to join him when he officially decamped from the PDP but was met with a shocking turn around when his key allies and supporters refused to follow him and instead, staged a rally in Mangu where they endorsed Gov. Caleb Mutfwang for a second term and reaffirmed their commitment to the PDP and Mutfwang’s leadership.

During the rally, the group, “Mutfwang Phase Two Movement 2027” which is led by a former senior legislative aide to Maren, Dauda Nathaniel Kyak, expressed their refusal to follow Hon. Maren’s defection to the APC, which he described as a political suicide as the move will ensure his total eclipse from the politics of the state.

The gathering, which comprised coordinators from both LGAs, as well as political appointees and polling unit canvassers, unanimously endorsed Mutfwang for a second term due to what they claim are his outstanding performances in reshaping rural and urban communities.

Kyak eulogized the supporters for their teamwork and loyalty to the PDP, stating that Hon. Maren’s exit had now liberated them to form the stranglehold of political servitude and will now allow them to openly show support and work for Gov. Mutfwang openly.
