The Roots of the Conflict
For centuries, Fulani herders moved their cattle across West Africa in search of greener pastures. In Nigeria, this nomadic tradition often brought them into contact—and sometimes into conflict—with farming communities. Traditionally, disputes were settled through local agreements or traditional rulers.
