Tinubu departs Abuja for Japan, Brazil [Video]

President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a two-nation trip to Japan and Brazil, with a brief stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

DAILY POST learnt that Tinubu’s visit to the countries follows an invitation by the Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

DAILY POST reported that Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, has announced that the president will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) holding in Yokohama, Japan, from August 20 to 22.

According to the statement, the conference, themed “Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa,” will focus on Africa’s economic transformation, improved business environments, and sustainable development through private investment and innovation.

After the conference, Tinubu will also travel to Brasilia, Brazil, for a two-day state visit from August 24 to 25 at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Onanuga explained that Tinubu will meet his host for bilateral talks, attend a business forum with Brazilian investors, and witness the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at boosting Nigeria-Brazil relations.

The presidential spokesman added that the delegation, comprising key ministers and senior officials, will explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation and sign agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Brazilian government.
