Arsenal have announced the signing of Piero Hincapié from Bayer Leverkusen.
The defender joins the Premier League club on a season-long loan with an option to buy for £45m.
Hincapié becomes Arsenal’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
“Piero has a real physical presence, with his versatility and tactical flexibility giving us strong added defensive options.
“He is a big character, with a very good combination of both youth and maturity,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said.
Hincapié’s arrival has allowed Arsenal to approve Jakub Kiwior’s transfer to FC Porto.
