Transfer: Trossard ends speculation over Arsenal future

Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard has opted not to leave the Gunners this summer transfer window.

There had been speculation that Trossard might depart the Premier League’s North London club in search of more regular playing time elsewhere.

The Belgian winger was linked with a move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich as a replacement for Leroy Sané, who left Vincent Kompany’s side to join Galatasaray this summer. The 30-year-old was also linked with other Premier League clubs.

However, according to The Athletic, Trossard has put an end to speculation over his future at the Emirates Stadium by agreeing to a new contract with Arsenal.

The report added that Trossard has been unreceptive to the prospect of leaving the Gunners and that ‘there are no significant developments’ regarding his potential exit from the club.

It further stated that the player and Arsenal have struck an informal agreement during positive talks, with Trossard set to receive a salary increase ‘in line with his valued role’ at the club.
