Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, working with police operatives and C-Watch patrol teams, have rescued six children kidnapped by armed men in Gidan Maga village, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident occurred on Monday when gunmen invaded the community in an attempt to abduct residents. Security forces swiftly mobilized, blocking all escape routes and engaging the assailants in sustained gunfire.
According to sources available to Zagazola Makama, the superior firepower of the troops forced the kidnappers to abandon the children and flee into Naalma Forest.
The rescued children were identified as Abdulhakim Rilwanu, 12; Zinatu Mansir, 10; Ado Sani, 9; Sani Umar, 10; Yusuf Umar, 10; and Jamilu Nasiru, 11—all from Gidan Maga.
They were rescued unharmed and taken to safety, with plans underway to reunite them with their families. Security forces have since launched a cordon-and-search operation in the forest to pursue the fleeing criminals.
