CBS Sports commentator, Thierry Henry has suggested that Victor Osimhen’s selfishness cost Galatasaray goals against Liverpool during both sides’ UEFA Champions League tie on Tuesday night.
Recall that Osimhen’s penalty goal gave Galatasaray a 1-0 victory against Arne Slot’s side.
According to Henry, if Osimhen had been a little less selfish at times during the encounter at Rams Park, Galatasaray could have scored a few more goals against Liverpool.
The Arsenal legend also said that the Nigerian international took the penalty really well against the Reds, adding that he and his teammates deserve credit for beating the Premier League champions.
“On a good day, Galatasaray can beat any team,” Henry said after the match in his post-match analysis.
“When Galatasaray is on a good day and playing at home, they can beat any team in Europe.
“They really fought for every ball until the end. They played their best on the counter-attack.
“If Osimhen had been a little less selfish at times, they could have scored a few more goals. A few times, he might have given the ball away to one of his teammates. But he took the penalty really well.
“I said before the match, ‘They can bother Liverpool.’ We have to give them credit. Look at the players in the team,” the Frenchman said.
