Yemi Solade Publicly Apologises To Afeez Owo Over A 20-Year-Old On-Set Slap

  • Yemi Solade has apologized to Afeez Abiodun, known as Afeez Owo.
  • The apology addresses a physical altercation that occurred over twenty years ago during a film production.
  • The incident took place on a remote film set near Ibadan, where Afeez was the production manager at the time.

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has publicly apologized to fellow actor and filmmaker Afeez Abiodun, popularly known as Afeez Owo, over a physical incident that happened more than twenty years ago during a movie production.

In a recent appearance on Behind the Fame African A-List, Solade opened up about the altercation, which occurred on a film set located in a remote area near Ibadan. At the time, Afeez was serving as the project’s production manager.

Solade explained that the misunderstanding took place after filming concluded and the town experienced a power outage. Frustrated by the blackout and Afeez’s perceived lack of urgency in addressing the issue, he admitted to reacting harshly.

“Let me apologise to Afeez Abiodun. I slapped him once. He was the production manager of a movie, I can’t recall the year exactly. We got to the town outskirts of Ibadan, and when we finished filming, there was a blackout,” he recounted.

“As the production manager, he was the one we’d lay our accusations and frustrations on. It got me infuriated because he wasn’t taking me seriously, and that slap came from nowhere, in the dark. I didn’t like that.”
